If you’ve read #Maine over the past few months, you’ve noticed that we regularly read r/Maine to see what people are thinking about our state. Usually they’re asking (covertly) about weed or travel advice.
Posted a couple of days ago, a photo of a rare white lobster is one of the most popular threads on r/Maine. The photo, said to be from a lobsterman in Stonington, is actually a few years old. The photo originated on r/rarelobsters, which is exactly what it sounds like.

This is obviously the result of human/lobster hybrid testing, undoubtedly responsible for the Cannibal Lobster-Man Of New England.
Calico lobsters are said to be one in 30 million.
Blue lobsters usually make the news in Maine, as only one in two million have this color.
There are only 23 threads on r/rarelobsters, and some of them are jokes, but you can find some very vibrant lobsters there.
