Intern Investigates: Owl Attacks in Bangor City Forest

On Sept. 26, a note was posted on the entrance map of the Bangor City Forest that read: “Great Horned Owl Attack! On West Trail – 8:00 am”

The note from the bulletin board at Bangor City Forest.

A couple of weeks later, two more parties added that they had run ins with a similar owl.

The Bangor Daily News covered a string of attacks in 2009, where great horned owls left some cross-country skiers with minor cuts and a head full of bad memories.

So, naturally, the Intern was tasked to enter the forest, armed with two Go Pros, to look for the infamous owl.

If you were one of the unlucky souls who was attacked by the owl, we want to hear from you!
