We recently posted that travel site TripAdvisor had named Ogunquit Beach one of the country’s 25 best beaches, as determined by thousands of the site’s users. The popular travel site annually releases what it calls its Travelers’ Choice Awards, and another category under that umbrella is “hotels.”
Unlike TripAdvisor’s Best Beaches ranking — which was heavily focused on the three states of Florida, Hawaii and California — the website’s list of the country’s top 25 best small hotels included a wide range of entries across the U.S.
But like in the beach list, Maine was represented in the list of America’s best small hotels as well.
Coming in at No. 12 was none other than the Grand Harbor Inn in Camden. TripAdvisor reviewers lauded the establishment for its balcony views of the water, its convenient location among shops and restaurants, and its dog friendliness, among other qualities.
This represents the second time in just more than a month that a Maine hotel — specifically an inn in Camden — has earned high praise among travelers, with Travel + Leisure magazine readers naming the Camden Harbour Inn one of the 20 best boutique hotels in the world in January.
