When picking up returnables, make sure they don’t have meth in them

You might want to know what you’re grabbing when you pick up returnables on the side of the road. As the Bangor Police Department is warning on its Facebook page, some bottles have been found with dangerous methamphetamine residue inside. The residue can be brown and white, and look like sludge.

Similar scenarios have played out elsewhere. In April, the employee of a business in Easton found a plastic bottle, that had apparently been used to manufacture methamphetamine, in a dumpster.
