Read Ben Roethlisberger’s lips: ‘Funtown!’

If you haven’t seen the series of Bad Lip Reading shorts on YouTube, take a few minutes to check them out. The gist is that they do intentionally terrible jobs reading the lips of various politicians and other famous people, making it so that it looks like they’re saying ridiculous things.

Some of the most popular episodes on the channel are based on NFL clips — showing New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady barking out “I found Fido!” at the line of scrimmage, or Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh whining “I want cake now!” on the sidelines.

In this year’s edition of Bad Lip Reading’s NFL short (above) — released earlier this year and watched nearly 28 million times as of this writing — they’ve got Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger approaching his offensive line and yelling jubilantly about one of Maine’s top amusement parks.

It’s just a second of the four-minute-long video and it comes at about the 1:17 mark. But the whole video is funny and worth a watch, even with just a tiny Maine connection.

(For what it’s worth, a quick Internet search turns up only one other Funtown in the country — Fun Town at Micke Grove State Park in California. Ben Roethlisberger’s an eastern guy, so let’s go ahead and assume he’s yelling about the Saco version. It’s fake anyway, what difference does it make?)

Funtown is closed for the season now, but will reopen in May. Watch the video below for an idea what you can see and do there.
