Facebook, YouTube pages shame some of Maine’s worst drivers

There are two lanes — one obviously a left-turn-only lane and the other a lane for vehicles going straight through the intersection.

And inevitably, somebody from the left lane drives straight and cuts you off as you try to pass through the intersection. Or somebody from the straight-only lane makes a ridiculous question-mark-shaped turn left nearly causing a three-car pileup.

Then you’re off to go shopping, and you can’t find a spot to park because somebody’s parked their truck diagonally across three spaces.

Well, those drivers are getting their comeuppance. At least in terms of Internet embarrassment, anyway.

A Facebook page has popped up dedicated to what it calls “Stoopid parking in Bath,” and in the short time it has been live, it has garnered hundreds of followers, many of whom contribute photos they’ve snapped of drivers parked stunningly inconsiderately throughout the city.

Elsewhere on the Internet, a Portland area YouTube channel has gathered enough dashboard camera video to make nine volumes’ worth (and counting) of bad driving compilations.

Watch as drivers erratically change lanes and exhibit a general disregard for the rules of the road.

Turns out, you’re not alone in your frustrations with those people who cut you off at intersections or park across multiple spaces. Now those people are getting the attention you may think they deserve.
