While tropical locations might be what most people imagine for destination weddings, DatingAdvice.com offers a dozen unexpected alternatives — including Maine’s own Port City.

Portland takes fourth place on the site’s list of “12 Unexpectedly Perfect Cities to Get Married In.”

The small blurb praising the city cites its “sweet inns and harborside marinas.”

“Plus — just think of all that lobster,” the article adds.
