Website chooses the best song about every US state, and Maine’s is just what you feared (or maybe hoped?)

It’s list time again! Yesterday, thrillist.com, which bills itself as “a leading men’s digital lifestyle brand,” posted a round-up of what they declared were the best songs about each of the 50 states. They ranged from the expected (“Sweet Home Alabama” for Alabama, duh) to the somewhat obscure (“Say Shh” by Atmosphere for Minnesota).

And what did the folks at thrillist.com decree was the best song about Maine? Yes, it’s that new Tim McGraw song again, “Portland, Maine.” Thrillist gets a little snarky in their caption as well: “It probably says something about Maine that the best song involving the state was released this September, and includes the lyrics ‘Portland, Maine, I don’t know where that is.'” Still, things could be worse: poor Arizona got Public Enemy’s “By the Time I Get to Arizona,” in which Chuck D raps that he’d like to urinate on the state.

Oh, and in case you still somehow haven’t heard “Portland, Maine”:
