Stephen King to appear on episode of “Finding Your Roots” on PBS, airing at 8 p.m. Sept. 23

Stephen King will appear on an episode of “Finding Your Roots,” a PBS series hosted by Harvard scholar and journalist Henry Louis Gates that traces the genealogical roots of famous Americans. The episode will air at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23 on your local PBS station.

In it, Gates and King discover, among other things, that he is the descendent of Tennessee Methodists who were morally and religiously opposed to slavery, before the Civil War, and moved to Indiana in protest. King shares the episode with actors Gloria Reuben and Courtney B. Vance.
